About Us
VETMED started in 1995, as a mobile ultrasound practice serving the metropolitan Phoenix area. At that time, ultrasound in veterinary medicine was just in its infancy and the technology was archaic as compared to today. Nonetheless, it was a very valuable tool in the diagnosis of a variety of diseases.
Dr. Robertson, who started VETMED, also at that time, owned East Valley Veterinary Hospital in Mesa, Arizona. It was while in general practice, that Dr. Robertson developed the concept of a mobile veterinary ultrasound practice after studying and performing ultrasonography for the prior seven years. This mobile ultrasound practice is still a big part of VETMED today.
VETMED has grown substantially and in 2010 moved into a state-of-the-art, 8,000 square-footage facility located in North Phoenix.
